There is an email being sent to our members that is unknown to us here at the website.  It is requesting funding for a small child of one of our members. Be aware of this and don't get caught in a scam!

The USS Renshaw website is not familiar with this request. It was not cleared through us and we recommend you use care when responding to unverified requests. The Renshaw was decommissioned in 1970. Any of our members having a three-year-old child today would need to be in Guiness book of records!!

Shipmate Bruce DeWald sent a picture of Renshaw arriving in Sydney in May, 1958. Nice shot of the ship. This was the cruise just before I came aboard. I'm sure a lot of viewers here will remember the Australia trip in 1958.

Hi,
Here is a shot of Renshaw during Navy Day 1945. My Dad took this, he was a tin can sailor.
Take care,

Steve

From Webmaster

We received word this week that our friend and shipmate, Ed Brown, is continuing to have serious health problems.  Please continue to keep Ed and his family in your thoughts and prayers. Ed worked with me as an FT on the Renshaw in the late 1950s. Later, he worked at the Naval Base in Charleston, SC. His home is in Summerville, SC.

To all Renshaw shipmates:

Happy New Year 2017. With this, we start our info notes file for the new year. Let us hear from you. We don't have means for you to post your note here directly, so just send it to me in an email and I'll put it up.
